This means that they work only one way when inserted. So, if they don't illuminate on the first try, just remove and rotate 180-degrees and reinsert. It should be all good and be sure to do this before you button her up…so you don't have to remove the lenses again. For turn signal/indicator application: be sure you have a flasher relay to account for the lower current needed for LEDs. Without an updated flasher relay; the result is hyper-flash because your system "thinks" there is a bulb out and they will flash rapidly.
