• From the factory GM never put a REAL wooden steering wheel in any Chevelle. All original assembly line and all reproduction 2 spoke wheels like this STE-4086 wheel were made of plastic with a simulated woodgrain finish. They have a steel inner ring core with a plastic outer. This reproduction wheel is a great match to what would have come in your car from 1964 - 1966. The woodgrain wheel was an option and could be found in any base model Chevelle Malibu or Super Sport. Doesn't matter if you have Standard Interior or the optional Deluxe Interior. This is a excellent looking wheel, especially for the price!
